Humanist Walk around Woburn deer park
On Sunday 9th January there will be a humanist walk around Woburn deer park. What is a humanist walk? Well, it is a country walk (obviously), with people who think like you do. (Assuming you subscribe to values such as science, democracy and human rights and you are against irrationality and bigotry in all their forms.)
A great opportunity to meet your local humanist group in an unthreatening manner!
The event is free. There will be a pub on the route (you buy your own beer, you think we’re made of money?) Children and dogs welcome, including in the pub, but dogs on leads in the park because of the deer. There should be plenty of deer to see.
Meet from 10:45 at Woburn, the free public car park in Park Street, opposite the church. We start walking at 11:00 and we aim to get back to the car park before dark. The distance will be around 6.5 miles and the pace will be easy. The route was checked a few days ago and was found to be largely good but with some wet stretches, you will need walking boots or wellies or you will have unhappy feet.
To be kept in the loop in the case of cancellation due to inclement weather please send your name and phone number to bedshumanists@hotmail.com.
