Everything you ever wanted to know about the police but didn't know who to ask
Tuesday 2nd September at the North End Social Club - 7 for 7.30pm
Chief Inspector Julian Frost, Bedfordshire Police
We are lucky to be hosting a round table discussion with one of Bedford's most senior police officers. CI Frost will outline the current force structure and tell us where policing is locally, and how that is impacted by austerity. He is happy to take general questions on policing and in relation to local, national and even international events that we see in the news (but note that he obviously can't answer questions relating to specific incidents).
Chief Inspector Frost is 47 and joined Bedfordshire in 1992. He has alternated between community policing in every rank and operational policing at Leighton Buzzard, Luton and Bedford, been a public order commander and is currently one of the force cadre of firearms commanders. He has worked for the police service nationally on two occasions from 2001 to 2004 where he was responsible for integrating police aircraft into the national radio system, and from 2008 to 2010 where he developed policy on terrorist stop and search, airport policing and police information management. He is currently the chief inspector for Bedford Borough with responsibility for reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. He lives in Bedford with a wife and two children.”
