Darwin Day Dinner, 2011

On Darwin Day, Saturday 12th February 2011, we celebrated Charles Darwn’s 202nd birthday. Many members and their guests gathered at Pizzeria Santaniello in Newnham Street Bedford, for Pizza and other delights of Italian cuisine. It was a great evening, enjoyed by all, and we collected a worthwhile amount for St John’s Hospice, our official charity. One great moment at the end when Mike thought he could not cover the bill – many notes were folded in each other and it didn’t look enough. The last Darwin Day Dinners have seen Chinese food, Indian food, and who knows what we’ll have next year? We are slowly circling the globe in our culinary Beagle of celebration. I’m sure Mr Darwin would approve.
